HOW LIP SURGERY IS PERFORMED?

Typically for this procedure, collagen, and the patient’s own fat are often used with newer injectables such as Juvederm, Esthelis, and Restylane. Among the variety of techniques used for lip augmentation are laser lip rejuvenation – a non-invasive procedure that tightens the natural collagen and elastic tissue beneath the lips and V-Y lip augmentation – which requires incisions inside the lips. Lip surgery usually lasts for 15 minutes to 1 hour. The patient can resume normal activities usually within a day; however, graft recipients typically require 1 to 2 weeks

RISKS, COMPLICATIONS & SIDE EFFECTS

Allergic reactions can range from prolonged redness, swelling, itching, or hardness at the injection site. Possible complications include bleeding, uneven upper and lower lips, and an implant shifting or erupting through the skin. Graft procedures may also leave some lips feeling unnaturally stiff for 2 to 3 months.
