Several variations of the technique exist. HOW FILLERS ARE INJECTED?

During the procedure, the compound is injected using a fine needle at several points along the edge of the treatment site. If a local anaesthesia has not been used, you may feel minor stinging or burning as the injections are administered. Immediately following treatment, you may notice some minor discomfort, stinging or throbbing in the injected area. Occasionally some bruising or swelling will occur, but it is usually minor. HOW ARE MOLES TREATED?

If Dr. Desai believes a mole needs to be evaluated further or removed entirely, he will either remove the entire mole, or first take just a small tissue sample of the mole to examine thin sections of the tissue under a microscope (a biopsy). MOLES & YOUR SKIN

Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups. HOW CHIN SURGERY IS PERFORMED?

Insertion of a chin implant may take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. During the procedure, Dr. Viral will place an implant of suitable size and shape over the front of the jawbone. Implants may include solid silicone, bone or fat from the patient’s body. The small incision to create the pocket and insert the implant is placed inside the mouth (along the lower lip) or in the skin just under the chin area. Some chin implants are inserted through the inside lower lip (intro-oral incision) to avoid facial scarring.

HOW LIP SURGERY IS PERFORMED?

Typically for this procedure, collagen, and the patient’s own fat are often used with newer injectables such as Juvederm, Esthelis, and Restylane. Among the variety of techniques used for lip augmentation are laser lip rejuvenation – a non-invasive procedure that tightens the natural collagen and elastic tissue beneath the lips and V-Y lip augmentation – which requires incisions inside the lips. SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

The facial and neck skin is elevated. Fat is suctioned from the jowls and under the chin only if necessary. If there are muscle bands (platysmal bands) under the chin, they are brought together with stitches through an incision in the crease under the chin. The Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System (SMAS) – a layer of tissue connected to the muscles in the face- is tightened.
